Whether you can cancel your hotel through Hotwire depends entirely on the type of rate you booked.
2026 Cancellation Rules:

Hot Rates®: These are Hotwire's deepest discounts where the hotel name is revealed only after booking. These reservations are strictly non-refundable, non-changeable, and non-cancellable. If you cannot use a Hot Rate booking, Hotwire will not issue a refund.

Standard Rates: For standard hotel bookings where the hotel name was visible before purchase, Hotwire allows you to cancel or change your reservation provided you are within the hotel's specific cancellation window.

The Window: This period is typically 24 to 72 hours prior to your scheduled arrival. If you cancel after this deadline, you will likely be charged for the full amount of your stay, including tax recovery charges and service fees.

Trip Protection: If you purchased insurance during checkout, you may be eligible for a refund for covered reasons such as illness or flight delays.
How to cancel: Log in to your account and go to My Account. Find the reservation you wish to cancel and follow the "Cancel" link if available.
